Screen Printing

Having been established for over 30 years in Derby in the East Midlands, we are ideally placed to offer you a fast, reliable service for your printing needs. We offer a full range of printing processes including Screen, flatbed digital, large format and litho full colour. Please call us with your requirements.

Our comprehensive range of hand fed and fully automatic machines allows us to print a full spectrum of colours either using Pantone referencing or colour matching to your requirements. We can print with vinyl inks, fluorescent colours and a range of specialist inks, including thermochromic, photochromic, mirror, scratch card printing and glitter ink.

We print onto many substrates, including paper, vinyl, metal such as angled machine or instrument fascia’s, glass and many plastics including polypropylene and perspex. We can also apply glue using the screen printing method e.g. horseshoe gum or gluing and apply silicone release paper.

Screen Printing – Security

Screen printing fluorescent colours provides a vibrancy and clarity perfect for security print which is unrivalled by digital or litho print. Screen printing also enables you to use Invisible UV ink which adds an additional layer of security to your print – talk to us about how this may be useful to you.

Seal varnish and latex, also known as ‘scratch off’ applied to bespoke scratch cards, tickets and event passes provides extra security. We can over print seal varnish and latex with a design or specific wording. UV varnish can also be applied over latex for added durability.

Screen Printing – UV Varnish

UV Varnish provides a high class finish to your product and we are able to apply either full coverage or just over a specific area- this is known as ‘spot UV’ and can be effective in highlighting particular information or images on your material. Several coats of UV varnish can produce a “high build” finish which looks extra special.

UV varnish can be applied over latex on scratch off cards to enhance both its look and durability while maintaining its “scratchability”.

Specialist Inks

Working with specialist inks like Thermochromic, Photochromic and Mirror finish which enables us to provide you with temperature colour changing images, ‘glow in the dark’ and ‘glitter’ finishes and mirror effect, which really draws attention to your products. Other inks available include ‘scratch and sniff’ and fluorescent. Fluorescent colours when screen printed provide a vivid depth of colour unmatched by other printing techniques giving an added security layer for high value permits and tickets. Digital Printing

Using both flatbed and large format digital printing provides the perfect option for high quality full colour finish for high volume digital printing and small runs of the products we supply. From banners or presentation boxes to ring binders we can deliver your requirements as experts in digital print in Derby.

Print Finishing

Silk Screeners is able to provide screen, litho, or digital printing processes along side print finishing such as Die cutting, creasing and perforating. Combined with the ability to apply latex scratch off, gluing or re-moist gumming puts us in a unique position to provide you a full service for finishing your printed sheets.

Die cutting

We provide a complete die cutting service for your printed sheets which can include full cutting, kiss cutting, creasing and perforating.

Having hand and sheet fed platens allows us the flexibility to die cut your print finish requirements from folders made from card to polypropylene wallets in any quantity or shape you require.

We offer a hand finishing service which means we can strip the waste from your job and pack it ready for use, talk to us about your requirements.

Kiss cutting enables you to be peel off your bespoke finished product such as labels or stickers and allows for unwanted waste material to be stripped and discarded.

Perforating provides an excellent solution for tearing out sections of a sheet to reveal print below as in Advent calendars or tear off car park permit discs. Combining this with horseshoe gluing provides security for sensitive information.

If your print is consecutively numbered rest assured that with speed and accuracy we will return it to you in the correct order, just tell us your needs and leave the rest to us.

Creasing

From flat sheet we are able to cut and crease wallet to the required size and shape. We can produce internal fly covers for polypropylene ring binders or menu covers, held in place by the mechanism rivets.

Perforations

Perfect for tear off promotions, we finish your printed sheets to your specification. Perforations can be used in conjunction with creasing and die cutting.

Embossing, debossing and Foil Blocking

Blind embossing is designed to provide a raised area that gives a textured finish. For a different effect, debossing gives the reverse finish where the design is pushed into the substrates, both will give you a high class feel and look to your product enabling it to stand out from the crowd.

Foil blocking enhances your image by providing a highly reflective finish available in many different colours and finishes. It can be applied to most substrates.

Gluing

We are able to fulfil your gluing requirements by offering either a full and part coverage. We can convert your supplied stock by applying re-moist gum. Used in conjunction with our perforating service this allows for the ability to have sensitive information returned by the recipient by creasing and re-sealing with the addition of moistening the gum area and sticking down. We can also offer a full area gluing and re-moist gumming coverage service which with the addition of release paper provides a self adhesive sheet. Please ring discuss your exact needs.

Lamination and Encapsulation

These processes enhance your print and are ideally suited to prolong the life of your printed product. Both laminated and encapsulated stock can be overprinted so for example you may require a signature strip or spot UV varnish.
